Inauguration

I have a feeling I’ll still remember watching Barack Obama’s inauguration when I’m an old man.  Hey, I’m not much for trusting political rhetoric, at least not without adding a very large grain of salt, but seeing our President take the oath of office and then deliver his aspirational speech, I teared up.  We may not be past the bad times, God knows; we may never be able to turn the corner of the greed and decline of the years we’ve recently endured, but it won’t apparently be for a lack of trying.  If there are a set of better angels in our American nature, angels still available to us, Obama seems anxious to address them.

 Let’s hope those better angels are still there.  He’ll need them.  So will we.
