Charges and condemnation of the Bloomberg Administration’s policies, lax oversight are made in the deaths of firemen, Robert Beddia and Joseph Graffagnino, in the Deutche Bank fire in August 2007.
Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau filed charges
against several defendants and a subcontractor. He took time to describe the city’s “general level of
incompetence” in the fire at the un-inspected structure, which was being taken
down after the September 11, 2001 attacks for half a decade before the fire
claimed the two firefighters’ lives.
