Idea #8- Add Insulation to Your Home
Most of us are aware of the need to conserve on lights, AC, and unnecessary electricity, but it may not have occurred to you that simply adding insulation in key areas of your home will save enormous amounts of money and energy. Heating and cooling account for 50-70% of energy use in the average home.
Added insulation could pay for itself within a few years, and keep saving you money, as well as increasing your home’s resale value. All of this will keep saving CO2 at the same time.
If you want more information about the value of insulation and would like tips and details, go to the Insulation Fact Sheet at the Dept of Energy’s website.
Bill: you have become a numbers man:
whats up with that ?
this styrafoam cup insulation thing is driving me bonkers. I been colecting about
ten garbage bags from the fast food dumps and i am having a problem flattening them outl. They just break into bits. maybe if i cut a hold in the top of the walls and blow the foam particles from the cups in - i am going to meet your criteria.
Hay bud have a nice weekend take a walk in central park. my central park is just 200 feet away. Oh that reminds me the picknickers this week end are going to leave a lot of styrafoam paper plates and cups. I better get going and bag 2 or 3 loads.
cheers. rtg.
