I'm a Massachusetts-born New Yorker, who came to the city in 1980 for a few months and never got around to leaving. When not writing for the internet, I'm producing political and social issue documentaries.

The 'Big Diamond' began on another site after the run-up to war in Iraq, which I regarded as insanity... a war against a country that hadn't attacked us.

Someone said, "You should start a weblog." After finding out what that was, I agreed.

BBDB is about politics, journalism, media, and other subjects on the big diamond of life. It's named named after a baseball player's comment that, “anything can happen out there.”

I’m a Red Sox fan (yes, in New York..), so I have proof since 2004— that the impossible can actually happen.
