FISA Hall of Shame

Let’s get really specific about who the responsible parties are for the FISA disaster in the House. While the Democrats control the chamber, there was clearly an OK from the leadership, Pelosi and Hoyer, for party members to vote against the wishes of the leadership on this legislation. Had there been strict discipline exercised, there would not have been 41 yea votes in the Democratic Party. Notwithstanding Pelosi’s letter to Chairman Conyers asking for the legislation to be “revisited,” she let this happen; make no mistake.

As for the Republican Party, if your name isn’t Timothy Johnson or Walter Jones, you are culpable. There were only two House Republicans with the courage to stand up to the Administration and the leadership on FISA. Every other House Republican voted to sell your rights out to Alberto Gonzales.

Below is the Hall of Shame of Democrats voting “Yea.” As for the GOP, simply check to see if your Representative is named Timothy Johnson or Walter Jones. If not, he or she is on the list.
