Here’s a little bit of fresh media that is just beginning to play on the late night airwaves. Apparently, Ari Fleischer and an outfit called Freedom’s Watch are involved in the production of this pro-“surge” advertisement, which interestingly conflates 9/11 with the war in Iraq. It never gets tiring for pro-war, pro-Bush hacks to find a grieving mom and get her to talk on camera about the war as though it had something to do with fighting Bin Laden— and "preventing another 9/11.” If this doesn’t make you angry, I’m not sure what will.
Freedom’s Watch has employed former White House press secretary Fleischer as spokesman for a $15 million advertising campaign in 20 states. The goal is to tell people that the buildup of U.S. troops in Iraq is working— specifically to tell people the surge is working in districts where Republican congresscritters and Senators are leaning away from supporting a continuation.
I'd love to hear where the $15 million is coming from.
